NEW R&D TEAM AT TMW SYSTEMS CHARGED WITH “DEVELOPING COOL NEW PRODUCTS AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT”

TMW Systems, Inc., the leading developer of enterprise software for the North American trucking industry, announces the formation of a new research and development group, the PACE (Profitability and Client Efficiency) Team. The PACE Team will draw on TMW’s more than 20 years experience in the trucking industry to develop new products and services that will help carriers improve their operational productivity and efficiency.

TMW’s existing product development group supports and enhances current products. The new PACE Team will operate independently, enabling it to concentrate on creating products and services that are new not only to TMW, but to the industry, as well. The team will draw upon its members’ more than 100 years of trucking technology experience and the freedom to pursue clearly identified needs in the trucking industry, unencumbered by ongoing operational responsibilities.

“The mission of the PACE Team is very straightforward: develop cool new products at the speed of light,” explains Tom Weisz, TMW president and CEO. “The team will synthesize our technical know-how, experience in the industry, ongoing research about carriers’ unmet needs and extensive customer input in order to rapidly create unique products and services that trucking companies can use to improve their business operations.

” The PACE Team’s initial project, ResultsNow by TMW™, is already creating a buzz in the industry. ResultsNow is a patent-pending combination of consulting services and proprietary software that provides trucking company management and employees with constant visibility to their own real-time key performance indicators. Having continuous access to up-to-date information on how the company is performing in critical areas enables business owners and managers to make sound decisions quickly, rather than waiting days or more for typical reports. With ResultsNow, they can be proactive, rather than reactive. The PACE Team is continuing to develop add-ons and enhancements to this new product. The team is also working on several other projects, including developing new products that will be announced in the next couple months.

In another departure from TMW’s traditional R&D approach, the team offers professional technical consulting services for developing customized solutions to carrier issues. “As long as the situation is one where we can apply our technical and transportation expertise, we’ll take on custom software development projects,” explains David Mook, chief technical officer, and leader of the PACE team. “Our experience, technical know-how and freedom to think ‘outside the box’ provide us with a unique opportunity to develop creative, reliable solutions for our customers’ individual situations.”
