TMW SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES CONTRACT WITH FLYING STAR TRANSPORT

Seamless integration is one of several reasons why Flying Star Transport selected TMW Systems, the leading developer of enterprise solutions for the North American trucking industry, as their software provider. Flying Star Transport will use TMWSuite™, TMW System’s client-server based enterprise software solution, to help manage its fleet of 50 fuel tankers.

Flying Star Transport is a privately held petroleum transport company based in Amarillo, Texas with additional offices in Lubbock, Texas, Coffeyville, Kansas and Liberal, Kansas. They service the seven-state region of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Colorado, Missouri and Arkansas. Flying Star emerged from its parent company, Davidson Oil, in 1998.

“One of the key values of TMWSuite from a return on investment standpoint is its software integration abilities,” said John Lutz, director of sales and marketing for Flying Star Transport. “For example, TMW systems software feeds billing information to our accounting package and the accounting package feeds information to us about needed loads.” Lutz said Flying Star is currently working on integrating its accounting package with TMWSuite™. This will enable the programs to transfer data, resulting in more efficiency and tighter control, as well as automating tasks that Flying Star used to perform manually.

Another TMWSuite™ feature that appealed to Flying Star was the load scheduling “whiteboard” functionality. “Out of all the other software companies we looked at, TMWSuite stood out because it allowed dispatchers to move data around more easily in the whiteboard application,” said Lutz. “It’s a way to manipulate data that we believe is more approachable and useful to our dispatchers, making the process a lot easier for them.” For example, if an order changes, dispatchers simply click and drag or cut and paste information instead of having to start over again with a new order.
