Reliant Holdings Chooses TMW Systems For Integrated Software Solutions
A willingness to customize their software solutions to meet its unique transportation management needs, is what led Reliant Holdings to choose TMW Systems, the leading developer of enterprise solutions for the North American trucking industry, as their software provider. Reliant holdings will use TMWSuite™, TMW System’s client-server based enterprise software solution, to help manage its fleet of 70 trucks.
Reliant Holdings, LLC, is a CO2 distributor based out of Odessa, Texas, with seven subsidiaries including Reliant Manufacturing, Reliant Dry Ice, Reliant Transportation, Reliant Gases, FLOCO2, Reliant Distribution and Meek Refrigeration, that services the nine-state region of Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada.
Alan Houk, director of operations at Reliant Holdings, said after reviewing several software packages they chose TMW Systems. “Much of the transportation industry involves a flat delivery, where you have one load going from Point A to Point B. In our business, however, we can have twenty or thirty loads moving from several locations being delivered to one customer over a two-day period. TMW Systems was willing to work with us to make changes and customize the software to fit our business.”
Since 1989, Reliant Holdings has grown from one CO2 plant with one booster and four portable trucks servicing a 250-mile radius in Texas, to seven CO2 plants with nine boosters and sixty portables servicing a nine-state region.
“Reliant reached a point where we needed to follow our trucks more closely to better utilize our equipment,” said Houk. “Now we can track a driver’s time, monitor equipment, allocate miles and watch fuel consumption, giving us a better handle on the status of every load, with the added benefit of improved customer service. With TMWSuite we can provide clients with an exact location and delivery time, whereas before, when we used cell phone communications, there were times when we couldn’t reach a driver to find his location.”
Reliant Holdings also depends on railroad transportation, owning 50 rail cars that are moved between CO2 plants and rail depots. Houk said the rail cars move from one railroad company to another, occasionally switching so much that they get lost. “We’re trying to stretch past tracking trailers and tractors only, Houk said. “We want to track our rail cars as well, with the hope of eliminating turnaround time and getting a better return on the cars.”
