Position Purpose
The Business Analyst main responsibilities include analyzing requests for custom code development and preparing estimates, requirement documents, and specifications for customer approval.
Position Accountabilities
- Effectively interact with customers and stakeholders to gather, define, and interpret requirements
- Effectively liaise with developers and other technical staff to determine the best approach
- Prepare clear & concise requirements and specification documents
- Efficiently identify assumptions and misunderstandings
- Manage quotes queue and provide status updates to stakeholders
- Tracking and reporting of hours
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to understand new technical information and concepts quickly
- Ability to analyze and evaluate business processes, and provide effective solutions
- Proficient in the use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- TruckMate product knowledge
- Familiarity with the transportation & logistics industry
- Basic SQL and/or programming skills (experience with DB2 and/or Delphi an asset)
- Understanding of the software development life cycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player
Physical Requirements
- Frequent and close visual work at desk or computer
- Frequent sitting and working at desk
- Frequent verbal and written communication with team and other business associates by telephone, correspondence, or in person
- Consistent lifting of displays, folders, files, binders and other objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Frequent opening and closing of heavy file drawers
- Frequent walking and standing
- Occasional driving of automobiles
