Quality Assurance Analyst

Position Purpose
The Quality Assurance Analyst evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines.
Position Accountabilities
- Responsible for the quality of delivered products
- The timeliness of product delivery
- Maintaining his/her own test environment
- Performing testing tasks on in-house software products
- Writing and maintaining test scripts
- Making sure the products meet company standards, design specifications, and are within total quality management limits
- Assist development and technical support staff with software installation problems and client reported issues
Minimum Requirements
- 2 or more years of actual hands on, manual testing experience in a quality assurance role
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL, DB backup/restore and basic queries
- Microsoft Windows, Excel and Access
- General knowledge of how relational databases work
- Knowledge of Mercury or other testing tools a plus
- Knowledge of transportation industry preferred
- Quality industry certifications, such as CQIA, also a plus
- Have an eye for detail
- Be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task
- Work independently as well as with a team
- Maintain his/her own test environment with regards to both setup and data maintenance
- Understand and manage multiple sets of source in various test environments
- Must be able to work comfortably in a very fast paced work environment
- Have understanding of building and maintaining source sets and software deployment strongly desired
Physical Requirements
- Frequent and close visual work at desk or computer
- Frequent sitting and working at desk
- Frequent verbal and written communication with team and other business associates by telephone, correspondence, or in person
- Consistent lifting of displays, folders, files, binders and other objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Frequent opening and closing of heavy file drawers
- Frequent walking and standing
- Occasional driving of automobiles
