Berry and Smith Trucking Becomes the First Carrier to Use ACE e-Manifest for TruckMate
Maddocks Systems Inc., a leading supplier of transportation software and the developers of TruckMate for Windows (TM4Win) enterprise software, is excited to report that Berry and Smith Trucking has become the first carrier to utilize the ACE e-Manifest system for TruckMate. Berry and Smith successfully sent the required ACE e-Manifest details directly from TM4Win in advance of their truck reaching the Washington State border.
“We were able to train our dispatching team to use the Maddocks ACE e-Manifest system in about five minutes,” said Dorothy Van Koughnett of Berry and Smith Trucking Ltd. “I am confident this process will take a trained dispatcher less than three minutes for each standard cross border shipment. Most of this time will be spent on ensuring acceptance to the CBP system and with no additional data entry in TruckMate for Windows.”
Under ACE, before reaching the border, trucks are required to submit an e-Manifest through the web-based ACE Secure Data Portal or through a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) approved Electronic Data Interchange. Using the detailed shipment information already captured in TruckMate, Maddocks clients will have the ability to submit all of the information required through a customized e-Manifest program within the TruckMate software.
“Complying with the ACE cross border initiative will soon become a necessity for every trucking fleet crossing into the U.S.,” said Bob Maddocks, President and CEO of Maddocks Systems Inc. “By utilizing a solution that is fully integrated to their current investment in TruckMate for Windows, Berry and Smith is certainly a technology leader.”
Maddocks Systems Inc. is the only trucking software company to become a certified ACE e-Manifest solution provider. This will allow Maddocks clients to send the required e-Manifest data directly from the TruckMate software package. By seamlessly transmitting the shipment information required by ACE, Maddocks clients will eliminate time consuming data entry and ensure accuracy prior to transmission.
